One of the hardest challenges that one can be faced with is looking in the mirror and being able to point out the changes/improvements that you need to make within yourself. The majority of people in our society are quick to judge and point their fingers at other people and are able to point out their wrongs. BUT, the question must be asked…are you able to turn that finger around and point it at yourself. Sometimes we actually do the things that we judge others for but we tend to try and JUSTIFY our reason for us doing what we are doing. We always try and excuse ourselves but not the next person.
Over the past few weeks, I have been challenging myself to point out things that I can do to become a better person. I have been reading “Greatness 21-day challenge” by Eric Thomas and have been taking the time to “turn my finger around” and evaluate myself. I have realized the changes that I need to become a better person and that I need to take a step back and not judge others. Some people may not be judging someone intentionally however, we must always remember that we are not perfect and that you never know what some people are dealing with in their lives which could be driving the decisions that they are making. During this 21-day journey, I have learned so much about myself and have been able to finally come to terms with some of my wrongdoings and realizing that I cannot use my flaws as a crutch. I cannot continue to try and justify my decisions just to make myself feel better. I cannot become a victim based on my past choices. Even though my 21-day challenge isn’t over. I feel like I’ve truly grown and have opened my eyes in an entirely different way.
Today, I challenge you to take the time out and look in the mirror and really evaluate yourself.
